In winter, as most wildlife photographers, I very often take photos of birds at the feeders, where fairly large number of species come and thus it is quite easy to get a lot of nice shots. I have one feeder behind my house, there are more species than at the feeder located in the woods that I have already mentioned here. After two years I decided to reinstall the feeder in place which I carfully chosen in pine forest. The aim, or rather secret wish was to "catch" Crested Tit, which until now I hadn't the opportunity to shoot. Not far from this place several times before I heard her unmistakable voice and I hoped that together with other species of tits it could appear at feeders.

The long autumn evenings are coming, so I finally decided to write a sequel to the introductory article of March in this year. During occasional visits I manage to capture several bird species that you see on the attached pictures. But all from the beginning. Just after a few weeks after filling the water began to deteriorate and with the increasing summer temperatures it was getting worse. Initially I solved it by adding fresh water, but then I let it run its course, sometimes it was necessary to supplement the evaporated water. Indeed, in some water pools in nature water also is green and photographs in this environment seemed quite interesting. Turnover occurred during September, when morning temperatures dropped to near freezing point. Since then, water was already fairly clean, not counting fallen leaves and other coarse debris.

These photographs were taken by accident, originally I had intended to photograph waders at one favorite spot on the shore of the pond. I arrived at the location after 2 pm and I found that there is already some disturbance of birds by moving people. In spite of it I lay down under camouflage net at place where I managed to take some photos of bird during my last visit. But it was in morning mist, and now I am hoping that it will be in the afternoon sun. After a half-hour everything calmed down. Just behind me in the tall grass I sometimes heard Reed Buntings, flock of Goldfinches several times flew through the air, Marsh Harrier hunted at the opposite bank, White Wagtail collected food on muddy shore, sometimes only one meter from me.

This kind of heron at first sight differs from our best known heron - it has snow-white color. In our country it is similar a rarer Little Egret, which is a lot smaller. In the past, at our pond White Egret was relatively rare phenomenon, but in recent years their abundance increased while no evidence of nesting in the Czech republic. Also in Ústí nad Orlicí region I met regularly with this heron only after 2000 and the last 2-3 years is the rule that if iI visit the July-November several ponds in the wider my neighborhood, so at least one this heron I meet (up to 17 individuals on a drained pond).
